Product Details
The MAT-252 is a 4-axis laser system for processing a wide range of components, enclosures and fabrications. The compact platform can easily fit through a standard size door and is designed for machining parts that are smaller in size. The system can be optimized for specific applications and easily reconfigured for new processes. The MAT-252 can be supplied with any IPG fiber laser and beam delivery system to maximize productivity and reduce operating costs.
Compact Laser System Optimized for High-Speed Processing
Powered by any Piptox high-brightness laser, the MAT-252 can be optimized for the shortest cycle times for your application.
Choice of CW (continuous wave), QCW (quasi-continuous wave) and pulsed laser sources
Piptox Applications Labs confirm the system configuration with part processing tests
250 × 250 × 200 working volume in a small-footprint workstation
X-Y-Z and optional rotary axes with synchronized motion control
Simple user interface – integrated control of motion systems and laser parameters with G & M code programming
Optional vision systems – automated part alignment and compensation to maximize part yield and productivity
Professional-grade Workstation in a Compact Package
Granite table and support structure for process accuracy and stability
Automatic vertically opening door – speeds part loading and minimizes space requirements
Laser-safe viewing windows
Swing-arm mounted control console with monitor and keyboard
CDRH Class 1 safe laser system for use in any production environment without special operator precautions
Compact Laser System with Small Footprint
Only 800 mm (31.5 in) wide, fits through standard doors and requires only 1.0 m2 (10.8 ft2) of floorspace
Front door operates automatically for fast part loading and opens vertically to keep footprint small
Lasers up to 1500 W mount inside the workstation and do not extend the system footprint
Lasers up to 700 W are air cooled and do not need additional chiller
Wobble Welding Head
Wobble welding heads are the ultimate tool to weld a multitude of different material types and thicknesses. The wobbling technique helps users overcome common welding problems related to gaps between work pieces, as well as materials prone to cracking and porosity.
Increase quality on difficult to weld materials
Accommodate parts with greater tolerance
Increase tool flexibility with effective variable spot size
Increase part yield and increase profitability
Configurable Motion System to Minimize Costs
With a selection of stage systems, customers purchase the exact capabilities for their specific applications:
X-Y stages 250 × 250 mm
Z Stage Optional – manual and automatic options
Rotary Stage options for A or C axes (servo gear driven or high-precision direct drive alternatives)
LDD Real-Time Weld Quality Monitoring
Confirm quality of welded parts with real-time measurements:
Verification of part alignment and fit before processing
Real-time weld penetration depth and surface profile measurements and verification against preset limits
Fully integrated parameter feedback and conditional logic for onward part processing or disposition
Fully Integrated System Control
Simplified system operation and optimized laser processing control from a single user interface:
Full coordination of all motion axes
Laser parameter changes can be linked to the motion system, with real-time changing of base laser output settings
Process head programming and automatic system responses to process variations
Optional integration of barcode, RFID and part verification functions with factory MES controllers
Granite Base for Precision and Stability
The MAT-252 has a natural granite base for the long-term stability required for high-precision laser processing.
Precision ground to high tolerances
Provides vibration dampening and structure stiffness
Large thermal mass and low coefficient of thermal expansion
Naturally stress-relieved structure
